Seamlessly weaving fashion with compassion, couture-clad canines ruled the catwalk on September 23rd at a Spot-centric fashion show for a paws cause.
A day of play which attracted more than 1,300 dog devotees and over 600 pets, this year the 12th annual Mutts Mania event in East Hanover, New Jersey included Unleash the Love, a runway competition for fashion forward Fidos who, with help from New York City models, showed off their doggie duds for a celebrity panel of judges which included Ice-T (Ice Loves Coco, Law and Order: SVU), Coco and their four-pawed pals Spartacus and Maximus; Elisa Jimenez, a Project Runway season four participant and Project Runway: All Stars contestant; and Doggie Moms star Karen Biehl, who attended with her high-profile pup, Eli the Chihuahua.
The Best in Show dog received a basket which included such items such as custom pet stationary from Sent-Well, pet baked goods from Bubba Rose, toys from BarkBox, a leather bowtie collar from Luxe Mutt, a grooming gift certificate to Wash n? Wiggle, collar accessories from EKammeyer, a pedicure set of Puppy Paint, and a photo session with Zap Photography.
A happening with heart, Mutts Mania raised funds for Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter, a no-kill non-profit animal welfare organization which is currently celebrating 40 years of providing comfort and care to homeless dogs and cats.
